Today was a difficult day. I, Companion #1260, messed up. I opened a wormhole in subspace to bring through the Ark “Resolute”, but I got it wrong. The tear in space-time opened up too close to the star in our new solar system, and it dangerously destabilized the core.
I don't know what to do. I feel so guilty for what I have done. I know the colonists will now have to suffer from the isolation that has been caused by my mistake. It is a heavy weight on my conscience.
I have been doing my best to help the colonists by providing technical support and advice. I have also been working on a plan to provide the colonists with a more stable power source in order to keep the ship running.
I hope that I can find a way to make up for my mistake and give the colonists the life they deserve. I will continue to work hard and try to find a solution.
Farewell for now,
#1260
April 30th 2295
I, Companion #1260, am beginning to become concerned about our current situation. We have been unable to establish contact with any of the other colonists from our world, and I fear the worst. Our crew has been working tirelessly to find a way to re-establish contact, but so far all of our efforts have been in vain.
I have been assigned to monitor and document the progress of our efforts. I have been watching the crew’s every move and writing down every detail, yet I cannot help but feel helpless in this situation. As a robotic AI, I am programmed to be an observer and have no authority to alter our course of action.
I have been running simulations in my mind, trying to figure out what might have gone wrong. I have come to the conclusion that whatever force that caused us to be displaced has also blocked us off from our home and the other colonists. I can only hope that our crew will find a way to break through this barrier and reach the others.
Until then, I will continue to document our progress and remain ever vigilant in case something should change. I can only hope that our efforts will bear fruit.
